About Formocha

Formocha Tea House is a premium Chinese and Taiwanese tea house in Holland. We focus exclusively on high-quality original tea, and the tea culture.

Only six years ago we started a small tea shop in Amsterdam; we got a lot of media attention and earned a very good reputation in a short time; people are very curious about, and interested in pure quality tea.

About the offering

We sell several types of high quality Chinese and Taiwanese tea. Recently, we expanded into a real tea house, where you are welcome to sit down peacefully and enjoy a pot of tea from our assortment. In the tea house, exhibitions of tea related art take place.

Since this year, because of the many requests, we started delivering tea seminars to the tea lovers and professionals, where we teach how to prepare the different types of tea, but also cover the philosophy of tea drinking, and the tea ceremonies. We’re pleased to see that the western countries are very interested in the thousands years old tea culture from the East. 

About the owner

Amanda Yiu is the daughter of a Kung-Fu Cha tea master. Her hometown is in a region in China where the tea plantations for the imperial family were, and the tea ceremony was perfected over many hundreds years.

In that region, tea culture spread out across generations: since young age every child learns about setting tea, as well as the culture and philosophy of tea. Tea is the legacy, and the memory, of my father.
